If we don’t constantly recharge the batteries, our electronics are useless.
Think about it. Without power, the tools we rely on to do business every day are worthless. Their power source must be renewed, sometimes every day, like the Apple watch many of you wear. They have a fixed capacity and an expected runtime.
Without the spiritual power God gives us, we’re not as effective as we can be for his glory and the good of others. Lack of spiritual power limits our effectiveness, our endurance, and our output.
Aren’t you weary? After the last 21 months, how can you recharge your power source so your faith, mind, and attitude are at capacity?
Most modern Bible translations reference “renewal” in some form at least 66 times and it’s consistent across most translations! Among the verses:
God expects us to renew who we are — our knowledge, our attitudes, our strength, and our mind. Like a battery, we must turn to him — plug in, get connected, spend time — to recharge. We aren’t built with long-term energy storage. We are made with a constant need for daily renewal and recharging.
The way to recharge is by allowing God to fill you with the Holy Spirit and Christ’s resurrection power.
This is what the centuries-old cycle of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration leads to — renewal!
